Results:Better than day 1
Report:With a forecast of improving weather all boats ventured outside the harbour. Once off the Point it was a case of battling the 3 metre seas. Plenty of green faces before long

. However, with the winds moderating conditions improved during the day. The fishing grounds for the day were south of Roches Point with an easterly limit of Power Head and a westerly limit of Roberts Head. Most boats took the opportunity of fishing the Smiths Reef. The effect of weeks of heavy rain was quite apparent though, as the sea, instead of being a deep blue, was a milky green, despite being 4 or 5 miles off land. This had an impact on the fishing which was slow enough. However, better returns than day 1 were recorded. In all 168 fish above size were recorded with a total of 93 conger in amongst them. Best fish of the day was a 12kg conger caught by Steve Tyler of Wales. Milo Burke of Tipperary had the best score of 390 points (34kgs of fish), Paul Tennant of Cobh SAC was a close second with Steve Williams of Wales and Sjef van der Brand of Holland sharing 3rd spot. Leading lady of the day was Sandra O' Shea of Cobh SAC, pictured below with one of the many codling caught.
