Report: Headed out from Courtown for a evening session to try for Ray and Tope. The weather was clearing as we made are way out and it turned out to be a grand evening to be out we were going to be fishing over the high water so hopes were high as the tide started to slacken that we'd be in with a good chance of Tope. First stop was to try for Ray as Mick had bait ready to go... wasn't long before i got a bang and the rachet fired this got my attention as the line started heading away form the boat... to my surprise it was a little thornie with the tide behind him. A few doggies later and Kevin the other lad on the boat got a nice bang on his rod and reeled in a cracking 10lb Thornback Ray beautiful fish i'll try get a pick of it to put up.... we then headed further out in search of Tope... Skipper Mick had feather a couple of fresh macks so out with the animal gear and rachets at the ready... we sat in anticipation with cups of coffe in hand compliments of Mick

myself and Mick were chatting away and we both had what we thought were doggies chewing away at our lovely fresh mack baits.... he can feckin wait there till i've finished my brew was muttered... then as i realled in thought i had a huss on as it was fighting harder thatn a doggie... was happy out to see my first Tope of the year surface small but its a start... was an enjoyable evening out lots of doggies a handful of thornies and a tope.... for those that don't have boat gear rods reels and baits are porvided all in for the evening trips.
