Report:Hi, well, managed to get out for a trip after work, and with the long evenings headed for the salteeās out of Dunmore east.
There was still a bit of a swell running but the wind was nice and light.
Headed straight for the islands where we soon managed to pick up enough mackerel and plenty of launce.
We then set of to the brandies and the conningbeg reef for some Pollock action on the gill, it was great sport, with plenty of fish to 8 lbs, and we even managed to winkle out a couple of nice cod to 6lbs, one on a nice LIDL outfit used by john.
With the arms aching, decided to head for the clean ground for a bit of ray fishing, and within and hour and a half we had picked up 6 thornies, a nice painted and a spotted ray, along with plenty of dogs and dabs.
A great day out in lovely weather, I can smell the blues arriving now !!!!
Regards
