i ended up with: pouting, poor cod, mackerel, dogfish, cuckoo wrasse, balan wrasse, coalfish.. and if nige is claiming he got 2 spurs i'll lay claim to at least one of the two i got a hook up on...

the first bit through the snood and the seond was brought to the surface, just the the person who lifted it let the braid rub off against the boat and there went that one  will upload pics later

forgot to say that 2 of the spurdogs are now enjoying a new life in the Aquarium in Salthill. All of the spurs that were caught were female and all pregnant. According to the skipper its always female spurs that are caught on the bay. Now all we need to do is stop the boats with nets from catching them which is happening alot.

Anybody been to see Thelma and Louise yet? Hopefully the trawlers won't decimate the spur population again it's taken years for them to start showing in any sort of numbers...
