Vessel:Bass Hunter

Crew:Enda, Seirt,(borrowed from screeming for today) Gary

Duration:10 hrs

Tide:Ebb-Flood

Weather:Crap in the morn and sun cream in the afternoon

Bait: Crab,Mussell,Rag,

Rigs:Sabiki, flowing, mini rigs

Results:Conger, 1 Dab, Pollack, Goldsinny Wrasse, Ballans, Gobys, Whiting Golden, Grey mullet
With the 4 cast giving light winds we decided to tackle Cork for a day, left Dundalk at 12am Mon eve and arrived at the slip at 5am.
After a quick snooze we launched Bass Hunter into a horrible wind, so straight away we new that the offshore marks where out so the banks and rock was as far as we could go.
I love to tell you,s of great catches but only 1 dab and 2 congers came on board and small pin whiting.
The water clarity was very poor and we only cratched the remender of the day with a few small ballans pollack and a few goldsinny gobys to show for a marathon trip. We had a few minutes over a shoal of Mullet and was lucky enough to hook a gg and grey which I suppose deffo made the long trip down worthwhile. Maybe next time and a closer eye on the weather might yield better results. :D

Missed this report somehow!!
At least ye were out fishing :D
Gary, I wouldn't read too much into a trip at this time of year, fishing can be hit and miss to say the least.
The inner harbour is a struggle at the moment but will begin to pick up in the next while.

The recent reports on the site about golden greys is causing a bit of a frenzy. Last night, at one stage, there were about 5 boats on the mark....the most I've ever seen there. Today, as I speak, there is 1 boat there and I do know of a few anglers who are going to target the area over the weekend....it'll be like Panna' St. in the middle of the Christmas shopping  . Get there early boys and girls or you mightn't fit in  .
