It had a ridge between the eyes and one or two elongated fin rays past this ridge.
It is either a Thors scaldfish or dogfish.

The lemon sole is a right-handed flatfish so feel free to have your spanner back.

I'm pretty sure they are a different species of fish, The flathead in Australia grows an awful lot bigger than a dragonet
