People: jw donogh

Duration: 2:30 8:30

Tide: high around 8

Weather: nw breeze

Bait: jelly worms

Rigs: gilling rigs

Results: lots of mackerel, lots of pollack, 2 scad and a ballan

Report:

it finally stopped raining for a day  so an expedition to
loop head for a brief pollack session. All the marks in the gps
were on the bennet bank  so went to where the lobster
pot buoys were and soon found a pinnacle full of fish. I used
to think my sounder was broke, now i realise the problem with it was that it
was on the east coast

day two was a hobie kayak fishing trip to poulnasherry bay. it was a great days
fishing, the kayak performed well in the strong tide, we could see fish whatever they were
swirling about in the bay, the only slight problem was we didn't catch any FISH

come to think of it, ive seen a fair few man hours spend fishing there and never seen
a single FISH caught

I know what you mean John... Looked a little lumpy. How did whitewater fair out on those west coast seas?

Nice to see you getting some fishing in down that way.

A model of accuracy and conciseness as always, Johnny. Nice pics too. Looks even more lumpy than it felt, makes me wonder what it would have been like if we had poked our noses out beyond the Head.
