Weather:All sorts, howling winds, flat calm, pissing rain, nice sunshine..... Only constant was it was cold..... :D

Results:About a dozen codling with 8 keepers, probably the same number of coalfish, half a dozen small pollack, a nice ballan, a beaut of a corkwing wrasse and a handy dab at the finish.
Report:
Took a notion to drop the boat in Saturday afternoon and gave the Donal fella a buzz. Met and launched at Ringaskiddy and headed for the mouth of the harbour. Bit of a SW blow on at the time and combined with the last of the ebb was a little bit bumpy on the way out with a good soaking of spray on more than one occasion. Drifting produced little with only a couple of codling coming to the boat so we headed for the mark fished last week and dropped anchor again. Plenty of fish came to the boat with codling to 3 1/2lbs or so amongst pesky coalies and the odd pollack. A nice ballan of just over 2lbs gave brief cause for excitement with a savage scrap to the boat. Donal managed a lovely Corkwing Wrasse also.
Once the tide had turned and begun to fill however, it was as if someone had hit a switch, the fishing just died along with the wind and after 45 mins or so of nothing much, we headed back in to drift a bit of ground for flats. We were running a bit short on time at that stage with daylight fading but it was long enough for Donal to winkle a handy dab out before we turned and headed back to port.
An enjoyable couple of hours out and about and good to get a few fish aboard. Cheers to Donal for crewing at short notice.

Nothing better than a spur of the moment outing no worring about what to bring. Just grab what you can and go.
This was a badly need, first outing of the year, before the Kilmore trip.
