Cleggan

Mon Apr 07, 2008 11:34 pm

Ten of us have a charter boat booked out of Cleggan for 2 days at the may bank holiday weekend. We have done the same trip for the last 2 years. Loads of pollock drifting reefs but this year we want to target more species and get away fron jigging feathers for 2 days! What other species can we target in this area? We are thinking ray, conger, maybe a skate? Being more of a fly man myself with only 2 true shore anglers and the other lads more into coarse fishing, any hints, tips or advice would be much appreciated. Cant take another 2 days of hauling up the endless pollock! Many thanks! :D :) :D

Best man to tell you what else is out there would be the skipper. If he can't then I'd go with someone else.

I have caught Thornies, plaice, brill, flounder, horse mackeral, coalfish, wrasse, cod all from the boat last year in that area.....if you check newspaper articles regarding the small boats festivel there is a huge amount of species caught there and all close to cleggan. :P
