Few pollack and many coalfish on muppets and pirks. Trawlers working S side of islands. Coalfish in concentrated shoals, full of roe.
Also ledgered bottom with small fish baits, but no whiting.2 coalies retained.

hearing you got out in the bay is good cant wait till april and put my boat back out there.any of the fish a good size? what time of the year do the tope enter the bay,had great sport with them during last sept /oct.

Well – I hope the sea conditions improve for April !
Based on fishing so far this year, there are plenty of coalies around the 4 to 5 lb mark and pollack somewhat heavier. Decent sized spurs too.
As for tope, I usually wait for the first runs of mackeral in May. I must say, however, that I do not try for tope before then. They could be around earlier.
