Report:
One of the committee members was late, which caused a few raised eyebrows. but when he explained he was forced into a binge drinking session the previous evening all was forgiven and the boat headed out.
She is a fine boat weighing close to ten tons and with a beam of 12 feet,
originally constructed for commercial work. You would be glad of that if
you ever had to come home through a bit of weather. A very stable fishing platform.
The skipper Danny did an excellent job and we were onto fish straight away, and it didn't stop till lines up. A lot of the pollack we close to double figures, and it you got a double hook up it was quite a job winding them up from over 200 feet deep.
Would definately be going back and recommend this trip to anyone. Some pictures to be posted shortly

Don't thank me for your :D :D "SOFT" win thank Alby and the lads you'll have to buy them a few drinks the next time out. Great session Sat night. Hope I did not wake them too early.
You might check with JD about the advance phone calls 8) 8) made doing ***klm per hour :x :x .
Great weekend. Fishing is not everything it's just an excuse for friends to get together.
Masters next year out of Crosshaven that will be war with no drink or prisoners taken.

Glad you got a calm day, good few species there, was there no Spurdog about? they were all over last time I was out there, mid sept.

No Spurs showed, though we tried one mark for them on the way in.
Though a bit late in the year, we tried a drift over his red bream mark, but none showed. Normally he would anchor for them, but he had pulled up his fixed anchor/buoy earlier in the month.
I took quite a few big pollack until slack water to a fluoro trace off a 12" boom with ragworm/sand eels at the business end. This was about 7 foot from the weight, with smaller booms below for scratching bits n pieces.
Really enjoyed it-as I said before we'll be back.
More later with photos.

i was fishing a 2 inch pink muppet tipped with mackerel when a small cuckoo wrasse took it. Next second the pollack pictured below swallowed the wrasse whole, pulling the hook out of its lip and into his own. When i got it to the surface, it spitted out the wrasse who swam back down seemingly unharmed, but probably going to tell the story to his grandchildren
:D
