Sun Aug 12, 2007 7:15 pm

People:8 mates

Duration:6 and a half hours

Tide: mid day full

Weather:fair better than expected

Bait:hooksbaited with mackerel

Rigs:standard paternoster

Results:good mixed bag wrasse, cod, codling, mackerel, pouting, pollack, LSD's, coal fish, ling and the Chinese fish

Report:Very choppy sailing out of portstewart, with large enough swell, started to pick up mackerel off Portstewart. With a full bait box it was off to the ridges for the slack water at mid day. Picked up the ling drifting over the edge, fish were caught every drift.
The weather had calmed down a lot but still had the odd dodgy swell to cope with. The sea beat a couple of us  the rest had a great time. There were a couple of interesting sightings, an extra from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" passed early in the morning we also saw a dead trigger fish of around 2 pounds drift past then as we motored home the Skipper spotted a sun fish flapping through the waves,,,, massive.
Great day out
well looked after
