Thu May 24, 2007 4:13 pm

People: mb3 jd jw

Duration: 18:30 23:30

Tide: low water 22:30

Weather: 5 knts s/w

Bait: fresh rag peeler mackerel

Rigs: shrimp rigs, sabikis, 3 hook ledger

Results: 4 or 5 small pollack; very poor

Report: the plan was to try for smooth hound round the corner from malahide. Drifted slowly from the beach out trying various baits and caught nothing. Didn't want to blank so headed for lambay. There were rafts of seabirds flapping about a couple of miles out, so we tried following them for a while, though they didn't seem to be feeding.
A few pollack were caught at the burren rocks. As it was getting dark, anchored up close to the beach iagain in 6 foot of water. Nothing again bloody east coast!
