Report: went out on Friday to get a few macks for bait. Not a lot of them around but they are there. Caught a good few coalies and cod. Got about 14 macks.


Saturday morning we had the boat in the water for 7am and after a short run we dropped anchor and a bag of rubby dubby. First drop I had a huss of 5 lbs.

After 4 huss and about 7 or 8 dogs we moved to our ray mark with instant results. We landed 10 thorn-back ray and missed a few more.

After a couple more dogs here it was like somebody flipped a switch. Bites just stopped so we headed out to try deeper water.

We got around 12 mackerel, 30 whiting, 3 cod, 2 gray gurnard and I had an octopus on top of the 10 ray, 10 dogs and 4 huss. Cant ask for much more than that. :D :D 8)

great day out got my first ever huss and first gray gurnard of the year :D .

One lesson learned. Huss are a lot rougher than dogs. :lol: :oops: :lol:
