People:nevskibb and myself

Duration:6 hours

Tide:2 up, 4 down

Weather:light easterly breeze, misty
,
Bait:rag, mackeral ,peeler,squid

Rigs:t bar, flowing trace.

Results:6 thornbacks, to 4lbs,1 spotted ray 2lbs, lots of dogfish, 2 plaice to 1lb,dabs to 1lb, a big grey gurnard 1oz shy of a specimen, ( damn) ballan wrasse, cuckoo wrasse, small codling, and whiting and poor cod

Report:after the reports of ray in bannow area, headed out to target them.
started well with a thorny on the first drop, and then proceede to pick up a combination of thornies and flatfish, topped of with a nice spotted ray.and a near specimen grey gurnard.
Bites dropped to nothing about 2 hours after high water , so moved to the 3 mile rock, had ballans and cuckoo, and poor cod, but not much else.
A tbar with plain droppers and size 1 hooks did the majority of the catching, with rag taking most of the ray and plaice.
nevskibb tryed the whistling spoon and wd40, and had nothing except dogfish. but when switched to the tbar set up the same way, enjoyed instant results.
A good day, and it shows different rigs may work one day and not the next!
Thats fish'n!!!
