Seems like a bit of a nightmare session..but at least your daughter enjoyed herself and you caught a few fish :)
Which side of the pier where you fishing on? I heard that the left hand side was supposeed to be better than the right, but i could be wrong!

if you set up at the wooden seat on the left side and cast out to the left as far as possible this is a hot spot also at night the fish come right in close say 20 to 40 feet can sometimes be to far. the end of the wall never fishes as well i think to much fresh water, used to fish it every week but its not great lately some crackin flats in the spring and some good fish jumping in the harbour itself last summer (salmon i think)if the harbour isnt fishing well the back of the aquarium normally throws up a fish or two especialy if you like dogfish

The dargle gets a good run of sea trout around july/august only ever seen one caught at the mouth of the harbour by some guy spinning. fish was about 5lb ..lazy

ye rodger that is my favourite spot as well the bench u can always pull out some whiting and small codling during winter but half way down the railing in spring can be good for flats
