Report:
The FPO granted me a permit for last night :D YIPPPEEE!! so Conor and I met up with Lee and headed to Glenarm for a wee session.

It was GREAT to get out again after so long at home changing nappies. The action was pretty constant all night with the majority of fish taken close in. There were plenty of cod showing but most were in the 20 - 25cms bracket except the last one of the night lifted by Lee which came in at 37cms - NICE FISH.

I managed to lose something big late on in the evening - I had chucked a big smelly mackeral and razor bait out as far as I could and spotted a series of really hard knocks followed by slack line (text-book cod bite  ), there was defo something big on but it managed to get off on the way in - GUTTED!!!!

All in all a good night with all anglers landing fish - Lee topped the poll with 5 fish - well done mate.

Interesting to see all these rockling being caught. I have never caught a shore rockling.....do they not travel this far south?

Wed Feb 14, 2007 10:53 pm

they looked a bit like 5 bearded rockling ,it can be hard to spot the 2 extra ones on the snout .Sounds like a half decent session you had .
As for how far south they go pete , i'm not sure but i'm sure you should get the shore rockling fishing anywere bouldery ,ask pete about how we fish them up around here ,though he's prob busy catching bass !

Good man Jude for gettin out! 37cm codling is not a bad fish either, seems like a decent wee session.
