Slea Head, Dingle

Postby Dave_B » Mon Aug 02, 2004 10:24 am

After trying Trabeg for Bass, with no sucess, Big Kev and Myself then moved to Slea Head.
It would have been approx 7.30am when we got fishing.

Immediately we were into a shoal of mackeral, so we began to gather bait for later on and a few for the table.

After the mackeral it went a little quiet, but then the pollack arrived, at first all the pollack for arount the 2/3 lbl mark.

Over the course of the day we had approx 25/30 mackeral and approx 15 pollack, biggest 2 falling to BigKev, both around the 5/6lbl mark, both taken on a mackeral strip on a float. _ Most fishing falling to the German Sprat )

At one point a Gannet dived about 6 foot from the shore and arrived up with a 3lbl pollack in its mouth, then swallowed it hole.
