Results:My results are 6 cod,4 flounder,2 whiting (CP)..9 shore rockling,1 Plaice
Catch and Release:: Yes/No...Kept the plaice
Report:Started off goin 4 that monster cod downm at cheekpoint cause we knew it was fishing well...had double flounder then 1 cod and 1 whiting on same rig then 1 flounder and 1 cod on same rig...had few bites after this...fished very well altho no size...headed 2 ballydowane for the drop after sdtopping in tesco for a munch and takin the piss out of drunk teens lookin for their beer, whats with the suits they asked? i said we r headin 2 space..lol..new imax is deadly...got nice nocks in ballydowane and thought i had a monster..little shore rockling lol...had loads of these throught out the drop..the big knock came and i held the rod out, i more tug and i lashed it in...had a mega fight, thought i was tucking into a bass (tho there was no surf at all) pulled in a decent plaice...go hard fighter and conditions were ideal..nice calm night...in total i had 22 fish..what a session..Slan

I think your shore rockling looks like a five bearded,it def seems to have more than three beards

If you look closer(top arrow) you can see what looks like a 4th beard,and the spot that i`ve circled is where the 5th would be.The angle the the fish is being held would make it impossible to see the three beards look like they are of equal length.If it was caught over clean ground the chances are higher for it being a 5 bearded.I could be wrong but thats what it looks like to me. :)

am loving the arrows davy - this rockling identification seems to really float your boat - must admit - i am far more better educated now than i ever was!

Corbyeire im glad you are being educated in the ways of the rockling :D .but its not just rockling that interest me,i like to know what is possible to catch in our waters so i can ID them on the spot. :)
