Leenan Co Donegal

Wed Jan 24, 2007 10:19 pm

People: just me

Duration:1500-1800

Tide: ebbing

Weather: light wind which increased after an hour, otherwise OK

Bait: sandeel, mackerel and crab

Rigs: float and pulley

Results: just wait

Catch and Release:: of coarse I did

Report:

went out to test new diawa supercast rgm and slosh 30, the rod is a cracker and the reel I need to slow down as after a cast into the wind after it picked up I got a big birds nest. Once I got it sorted i tightened up the line and the rod bent over. I lifted into the fish and started to bring it in, I thought it was a ray as it seemed to use the tide to put pressure on the tackle, it took line and I hoped it was big. Each time I got it to the base of the rocks it would dive and take line, after what seemed like ages I saw a flash of white and then used a large wave to wash onto the rocks. I went to see what I had caught and it was....................

A Bra, how disappointed was I, and to top it off the next cast I had a crack off and a birds nest, so I packed up and went home. The bra was released and was unharmed unlike my hopes which where dashed to pieces

MC - your cross dressing exploits have been uncovered!!!!

On a more serious note - be careful with that SL30 - try short lobs first and get the feel of the reel before chucking it hard. There are no mags in the SL30 so it is a beast compared to Abu's & Penns.

Brilliant

What bait did you say you were using. Imagine if you had a bigger hook what you could have caught,,,, the new non smoking advert comes to mind

Nice One
