Report: Dropping off something to accountant in Bantry, kids wanted to go fishing, I wanted to try out fishing down there - I love it when a plan comes together. Weather wan't looking too clever, but for once the forecast was right and it cleared up in the afternoon....

Turns out accountant wanted to go too, so after a tour of Bantry bay showing me various marks (although it pretty much looks like you could fish anywhere there) we ended up round in Dunmanus Bay on Doneen pier, which was great for kids (apart from drop off side) and had the added bonus of being sheltered from the wind.

Had only brought limited tackle and bait as wasn't expecting to be fishing too long with a five and two year old. Lost a bit of light tackle off the side of the pier, but just out from it seemed to be sand.
Anyway end result couple of bites and one dogfish.

I'd be interested if anyone else had fished off it. Nice looking spot, I'd try it again. Say it'd be good in the summer. Must try some more fishing down there and round about - any ideas gratefully received!
