[b]People: Ark Royal and Steviec
[b]Duration: 7.30pm to 10.30pm
[b]Tide: Rising
[b]Weather: Terrible - rain non stop and bit windy
[b]Bait: mack and squid
[b]Rigs: two hook wire boom
[b]Results: 3 Whiting, 1 coalie and a dog
[b]Catch and Release: Yes
[b]Report: Set up in front of the police station and fished one rod. Tide was on the rise and appeared to be bringing a lot of weed onto the beach. First cast ended in a spot of diffs and took me a while to clear the debris from the line. However, I raised the rod tip and tried not to let the line bow too much after the cast and this done the trick.
It was hard to tell the bites especially given the wind factor but it wasn't until the tide was nearly onto the pebbles before I picked up on the first noticeable bite. This resulted in a whiting around the 11/12"" mark on mack tipped with squid. Sport was on the slow side and it wasn't till approx 9.30 that the rattles became more consistent and in this period I landed two more small whiting on mack/squid and a coalie (around 12") on mack.
We decided to call it quits around 10.30 as the rain wasn't letting up and on my last cast I managed to pull a doggie out of the bag.
I noted from earlier reports that a few guys had fished the beach earlier in the day but I would concur with BigPhil's comments that it doesn't appear to fish until dark and even better on a rising tide.

BTW just like to take this opportunity to wish Jude and the family all the best and glad to see you were able to squeeze in a wee session before the fun starts.

Thanks Stevie Pal.
That sounds like a typical Glenarm Beach Session. Not a bad wee bag of fish there too.
9 times out of 10, Glenarm will get you a few fish after dark.
Cheers.
Jude
