costa, pookie

tide. balintoy hw 11.30 waterfoot 14.20 hw

bait. rag-lug-squid-mac

fish. 2 whiting returned

started at 06.30 at balintoy weather so bad unfishabile. waves breaking over white rocks so called it a bad pic and moved to waterfoot pier hoping for some shelter from the wind. Fished for 1 hr and again wind was to strong . We moved to the house with flat roof on the beach fished 2 hrs over high and had a few knocks and 2 small whiting but no wind. Costa got to try his new abu mag so worth that alone.
On way home called to a mates near portmuck so spend a bit on the pier using up the rag and had some very strong bangs on the rod bu no winners but will return as seemed good spot.

all in all the wind killed the day but better than being at work.

hi pookie you would have been better trying ballintoy on the high rocks as this is when it can fish at its best ,there have been some really good fish taken during a big sea .

Hey Beachcaster, which rock would you class as the high ones. I've only fished the area twice, both of the flat rocks, both blanks as the seals appeared in shore.

you will know when you see them one is just about 6-7 feet above the water the other aboyut 12 -20 feet above the water, and there is a blow hole on the high side so watch out if its a big sea.
