Results:Arklow, Dogs, dabs and whiting. Wicklow Dogs, whiting, pouting, codling and poor cod
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report:Started at Arklow as the wind was forecast to get strong, lots of fish right from the start mainly dogs, I would say I had twice as many dogs as small fish even though I was fishing in close with a three hook flapper and a variety of small hooks (size 2 semi circle, 1\0 circle and 1 longshank). I caught dogs on all the small hooks.
I moved to Wicklow as I wanted to try it at high tide. I used the same traces and started in close. It was quiet to start with just a few small whiting and codling so I put a couple of casts out into the tide which was ripping along. This produced dogs and a couple of bigger codling, one may have made 30 cm so nothing really good. Lots of 10 inch whiting showing. Fishing was still going well when I decided to head for home. No sign of coalies. Fishing was definitely better further out.
All baits were successful, One night six species How bad.
