Last cast produced a conger id guess around 30lb head and body about 8" wide 5ft+ long . Fought like mad for 5mins got it in and i panic and tried to hand line it. Bloody 50lb snood snapped GUTTED doesn't come close :(. Ill be trying again but ill bring a net lol

Iv had a few eels round that way it surprised me with the sand bottom but theres under water cracks and caves in the rocks u can still get congers in winter but they arnt as active as in summer they dont feed as well but if ur lucky u can get there attention :lol:thompo wrote:Alrite aye it was at the rocks on round from the pier.
Was.nt expecting conger thinking its was too clean and they would have moved off by now. Was fishing for cod (fat chance lol) using a 4/0 pulley pennel with whole squid and some mackrel. The coalies were of good size average was 1.5lb taking small squid and mack bits on a 2 hook flapper always the top hook. The biggest touching 4lb took the cod bait.
Only managed 2 small codling but i reckon theres some potential round there.
Good wee session
