Weather: calm at first, becoming very windy from 4ish.

Bait: mackeral, squid, razor, mussel & sand eel

Rigs: wishbones, pulleys, bombs.

Results: 5 little whiting and one large crab.

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: Due to work pressures and Christmas had not been out for at least a month. had read some reports on Killiney and decided to give it a go, Garry had driven from Port Louise (aka Portlaoise) and we had a good selections of baits. The whiting were all caught on mackeral. The day started off good, there was no wind, the sea was calm but dirty looking and there wasn't much weed. From about 4pm it all went a bit mental, the wind whipped up blowing everything about, the waves got bigger and big clumps of seaweed caught on the traces snapping some with the sheer weight. Very difficult to see or feel bites or hold the rods high enough in the wind to keep the line clear of the floating weed. The fishing was poor but the peace & quiet was excellent. New Years day is the next outing but probably not to Kiliney. :)
