Bundoran pier

Early evening (dark), cloudy calm weaher on a rising tide. Loads of whiting on mackeral strips. Perfect filleted and fried in breadcrumbs. My wife refers to them as whiting gougons (goojons?)- they are hardly fillets. Does anyone catch whiting in the shore more than about nine inches?

i read on artical that said larger whiting can be caught at rossnowlagh strand post christmas ?
could you let me know were you float fishing or legering is it rocky or sand off the pier i might give it a go tomorrow have you fished creevy

I have not fished Rossnowlagh - Creevy can be good but snaggy. Bundoran pier is sandy straight - out once you miss the rock outcrop that the pier is built on. Did you get anything at Bundoran? - I do not usually get much.
I got pollock from the rocks to the south in the Autumn - but do not fish either Bundoran or Creevy in the Summer - too many seasiders. Do you fish Donegal Bay regularly? Let me have your e-maill.
