b]People[/b]: Me and Pablo
Duration:09:00-16:00
Tide: Low on the up
Weather: Calm, overcast, approx 2 degrees
Bait: Lug, squid, sandeel, mack.
Rigs: Home made paternosters(twin hook) 2/0 and size 1
Results: 1 X Coalfish, 30cm long, approx 1-2lb i think(no scales)
2 X Flatfish, (not sure on species, brown with light brown spots) approx 15cm long
1 X Codling, 15cm approx
7 X Whiting, Most small, 10cm approx
Catch and Release:: Yes/No YES.
Report: Both of us were so determined to catch some fish so we decided to spend the day at it! Got baits in the water around 9am and thriugh on the frying pan and cooked the breakfast. 10 mins in hooked and landed the Coalfish. After this got another fie or six hooked but lost them when bringing them in(must be doing something wrong there). Comming up to near noon we caught two small whiting. At this point we moved up to the pier. On the far pier(back over the bridge and right) we cooked up some lunch and then got back to it. Next three hours provided the flaties,codling and a number of small whiting.
All in all a very satisfying day. My first coalfish, whiting and flattie. Pablo's first flattie and codling.
We definitely will be returning to Arklow.

Hi Ken I see you made it down and caught something. It does sound like a flounder you had but there are normally a few small dabs around there also. Pity you didnt stay a bit later till after dark when there would have been a chance of the dogs moving in.

Hey
Was using a homemade double paternoster with a 2/0 hook and a size 1 hook on it.
All in all a good day though! So you think what I caught was a flounder?
