[b]Farnastokine Rocks Waterford 14/07/ 2004[/b]

This mark is on the seaward side of helvic head. A bit of climb down not for the faint hearted, but good access to deep water. Fished it on the 14/07/04 from 12.00 to 2.30 pm (full tide at 4.30pm). Gave up early as between 3 of us we had no fish and the weather was deteriorating. Bottom fished with crab, sandeel and mackeral, float fished and spun to no avial. I did get one bit which turned out to be a bright orange octopus about the size of a football. Its a new species for me so I was not completely downhearted. Fished Helvic pier later (which in partly closed due to safety concerns) also to no avial.

Not sure about the spelling of Farnastokine but this is how is pronounced.
