Report:
Woke up early on wednesday and looked outside the window, slight breeze, overcast and mild. A fishing trip was on the cards. After a good breakie I packed the gear and headed off to Arklow for a spot of shore fishing. Halfway there and I realized I forgot my headlamp!
So, arrived at 12.30 and was fishing for 1pm. There was big waves trashing in, but it looked great. I had two rods, one with a big Macky/Squid cocktail and the other on a two hook flapper. Small mackerel and squid was used on the two hook rig. The whiting came straight away, a 30 yard cast was all that was needed, but as the day went on the bites came harder to conect to. All the whiting were small, I had one half pounder take a whole sandeel. Probably the biggest whiting.
just as the darkness came, the dogs started to show. I had four dogfish, one take was classic, a whiting was hooked and the dogfish must have try to take the whiting, resulting in landing two fish on the one hook. :P
Left at 7pm, had concern for my car left in the car park. Not a bad day, blessed with the weather, caught the usual catch for Arklow ( was expecting some coalies tho ). Photos attached......

I can understand your concern for your car with the lads around but in fairness to them I have never had a problem, or heard of any. Last yaer when the main car park was closed they were doing wheelies in the small car park but my car was untouched. I could hear the noise from the beach but just left them to it.
Nice fishing.

I know the feeling but I was getting loads of fish so took the chance. When I got back to my car (eventually) I could see the skid marks all around the carpark but not near my car. I only drive a 02 skoda so was not too concerned.
