not as much happenin here today, caught the pollack on a spinner was about 25cm, but had no bites all night apart from crabs, and i did catch an octopuss, it was real nice came out red then, when being put back in turned the colour of the concrete. think i'll go back to lugworm have hardly got a bite since i changed to mackeral at any distance, still wouldnt mind tryin for conger/dogfish so will keep one rod at the foot of the harbour with mack.

try hitting it a bit earlier in the tide cycle.ideal time would be about 1-2 hours after low tide.i find the lough fishes best about this time on the tide cycle.i find it also fishes best if it is just getting dark at this point, but it is not too often that you get the tide and the light ideally matched.....
you have put me in the notion for trying strangford this weekend.looking at the tide times on 'easy tide' i think i will be heading down this friday or saturday night.................can't wait,as it's been ages since i fished strangford, normally hit portaferry with similar results, depending on the tides..........
keep trying there are plenty of conger there for the catching...

Nice one Kirky.
I had one of these in France earlier in the year - really difficult to handle and they can give you a nip if you are not careful
Still - it is something new to add to your list....
