People:me and jh

Duration:browns bay 19.00-21.00/portmuck 22.00-23.30

Tide:ebb

Weather:dry , calm, light s/w

Bait:rag , lug , snake whites,squid and mack

Results:browns bay 14 whiting, 2 coalies, 2 codling and 1 lsd/ portmuck 2 codling and 1 whiting

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:headed to a closer to home mark than usual and was rewarded with a decent wee nights sport ,browns bay was fishing well with whiting up to 28 cm and coalies to 30 cm but once the tide was half out the water was heaving with weed being thrown up by the swell so we headed of to port muck to fish a rock mark but the action was a lot slower here with 2 red cod at distance and a whiting closer in.

That sounds like a good session you had there,i fished browns bay beach the night before and the weed in the water was just too much.I lost two rigs to big clumps of the stuff.Thats why i generally fish from the painted rock instead.
good to see plenty of fish being caught as well.

great nights fishing mate!! browns bay is at the top of my list of spots to fish. hopefully i'll have a throw this weekend. where i normally fish there is loads of whiting but they r mostly finger size, i would love to catch a decent one. :D

i had a go at it last week fished from 9-2 with high tide at 12.30

got 2 very small codling but was getting some savage bites on lug lol just couldnt hit them :(

all fish were caught very close in, big rod out far with big baits got 1 knock!

lug and rag seemed to do the business, mack and squid were un-touched

i think it would have been better if it was a tad rougher, it was mill pond flat all night with no wind.
