People: Myself and Bigliam

Duration:7pm - 9pm

Tide: flood

Weather: very calm,

Bait: Rag

Rigs: 2 hook flappers

Results: Poor cod, Pouting, Rock Fish, Pollock

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:

After getting a few new bits and bobs during the beginning of the week. I decided to head to carrick for a couple of hours.

Bigliam showed up and was fishing rag down the harbour wall.

Liam caught all the fish above at the harbour wall on rag.

So i rigged up with a pennel and lopped it out onto the mud hoping for something big knowing that there was smaller fish about. But unfortunately I blanked.

It was a good fish session and would like to try it on a different night with some lug maybe.

it was cold indeed, i think its made my mind up I'm going to get a new float suit.

O yeah don't forgot the two crabs.

I defiantly think lug would work very well in carrick

in towards the breakwater is normally good.

its a place i have never fished but sounds intresting might be worth a go some day maybe it might give you the odd conger as well

as toaddi33 says cast towards the breakwater but there is sertain spots on the breakwater that produce more fish....if you cast towards the bend or towards the start of the breakwater beside the peir with all the boats on it you will pick up cod, coalies, and huge pouting....my best fish off it would have to be a 13lb conger and a 4lb cod...if you want congers try the corner as you walk towards the old watch tower using either half a pouting or mack fillet you will pick them up but be warned there is a bloody huge eel their and has a nasty habit of running towards the breakwater....
