fivemile pt. 3/7/04

south shore competition fishing 20.00 to 1.00 , there was a very hard run with a lot of weed made fishing hard, however there was a good few dogs about and some flats. the winner had 22 fish 14 dogs, some flats and some whiting. best round was a codling 32cm. best flat dab 25cm. there were no blanks , i continued my usual run of bad form with just two fish a dog and a flounder, this has to be my worst year in over 20yrs match fishing with the south shore club. anybody out there show me how to catch fish again.
Kstaff has always been the new black in my eyes anyway!!!!!!!

Hi Kieran,

Five Mile point is between the old Newcastle and Killoughter railway stations in Co. Wicklow. Nearer to Newcastle. I think it would be on a Discovery map.

5 mILE

Go through Newcastle village, passing the community centre and a small estate on the left. At the end of the next group of houses, there is a narrow (single car width ) road to the left. This is the road to 5 Mile Point. There is a sign on the right but it is often turned in the wrong direction or obscured by foliage.
