Sun Oct 29, 2006 7:10 pm

People:me, myself and i

Duration:8am till 2pm

Tide:rising tide

Weather:lovely, mild and no wind.

Bait:king rag

Rigs:sliding float

Results:18 pollock, 2 coalies, 6 wrasse and a nice cod(around 2lb)

Catch and Release:: all except the cod.

Report:back again to whats been my home from home this year, love the place. it fished its ass off today! the float went under every cast, couldn't leave the rod down. i missed so many good bites it was scarey. i also lost the biggest fish of the day about 10 yards from the rocks! :( reckon it was either a bigger cod or a nice fat wrasse but i'll never know how big he was. really enjoyed myself, another great day at orlock. :D

dead easy to find, head down to bangor, take the ring road and head for donaghadee via Groomsport and its along the main Groomsport-D'dee road.

ive only ever fished the rocks visible from the car and tbh i havent had any luck. Im told theres much better marks if you go on a bit but never had the time.

thats true thompo, wouldn't waste my time fishing those spots. if u walk a little u will get the benefits of it. the spot i fish is really deep water close in. the bottom is covered in large kelp beds, so if u go with the float and set it a foot off the bottom then the fish come out of the beds and wallop the bait. in the end today i was fishing 20 + foot on the float, really good deep water mark. never caught much fishing off the bottom though.

some nice fish there rab, I fished orlock a couple of times and caught a couple of nice wrasse, again they were on the float as well

Must admit i fished Orlock a few times this year and have a few fish, also blanked a couple of times when bottom fishing, i had better luck with a float or doing some spinning.
