Report:
Managed a few hours at an easily accessible mark yesterday. There was a strong WSW blowing across the front of the pier which made casting a real challenge.
I started off with one very small codling - so small that I didn't even know it was hooked . Things were very slow after this so I decided to change over to Sand Eels and managed to get a bit more distance on the cast. This method resulted in 3 LSD's, one of which was the biggest I have ever caught. No scales for checking but I estimated around 3 - 3.5lbs.
There were a few others at the pier catching small stuff, mainly young kids with their Dads which is good for the sport.
Very encouraging to see the kids voluntarily returning the wee ones carefully :D :D :D
I stopped at The Ledge and Garron Point on the way home and had a few chucks with the spinning rod - no luck :( :(
