Bait:lugs,crab,trout,

Rigs:2 up pats,+1 up 1 down

Results:2 bass,7+4.5lb seen others catch 5 bass to 6.5lb.
nice surf all wk. fished 2 rods 1 static with gripers the other bounced around in the surf, 1 fish on each of the the first 2 sessions, to the bounced rod, lost a good bass on the static rod baited with trout blanked today :(

Trout..? Do you mean freshwater trout..?
Never heard of it used before. Have you caught on it before..?
Were u after a large scavenger type bass..?

Suppose there is no reason trout should not work.....wild or farmed?

The old people were closer to nature. I think that today's generation will lose a lot of that.

My childhood summers in Ardmore centered around fishing. This meant getting bait each day. I don't think that we ever had a tide table. We were by the sea so much that we knew when it was in or out.

My father and his generation knew which beaches fished better on the coming tide and those that were better on the ebb.


Most fishermen that I know presume that the last two hours of the incoming tide and the first of the ebb are the best. However, this is not always the case.


They would never have considered buying bait. Digging lug or rooting for crabs was part of the sport.


Maybe this is why not too many young people are getting involved in this wonderful sport.
