Thats the one - Red Bay Pier - beside the coal yard.
This pier can be very busy and this puts some anglers off but has produced a lot of good fish over the years.
Try fishing a 2 hook boom rig with ragworm close into the pier next time - you will be surprised.....

On a calm evening, i'd love a belt at them with my fly rod. Would be great fun! :D

Me and the young fella arrived here at about 2.30 am on the sunday morning and stayed till 8.15. There were 2 groups already here but they both left at around 3.30 or so, thanks for the rag and mack by the way lads...
The grand total was 1 small macky and 2 wee coalies when daylight was just coming on.
While kicking stones around the place it was obvious that someone had been luckier than us,with dead fish scattered around the pier.Coalies,a pollock ,some finest prepared squid from asda and some not so fresh fresh mack .Im sure that all the fish may have been badly hooked but surely its better to throw the dead ones back in than leave them on the pier.I aint trying to point the finger at anyone here or the lads that were here when i arrived ,but the point is that the non fishing public see these things also and think we are all the same. It only takes a few minutes to pack up after a session. No wonder theres so many rats running about the pier, they gave me the creeps when i noticed them scuttling about.
Still a good if quiet session though.

DOH!!!!!!!
I just automatically associate you with all things D/Dee..... :D
BTW Red Bay can be hit and miss but the Pier is a good place to get started, fish can be caught relatively close to the pier and there is plenty of room to move around but it can get very busy.
We stopped there last Sunday to chat to a few of the guys - I counted 12 rods being used and there was a lot of lead swinging about....
