Report: this was just one of them last minute fishing trips.. decided to hit the harbour and try something different! left all the beach gear at home and headed down armed with light spinning gear and a couple of mackeral for bait.. using size 1 hooks and small pieces of fish the rods were dancing as soon as the baits hit the water.. the sport was good with nearly a fish a cast, sometimes 2.. great craic using the light gear, 7 or 8 pout weighing in over the pound mark.. beat the hell outta sitting in the house!

Don't often hear of reports of pouting. If they were that plentiful, it might have been an idea to save a couple for conger baits (god only knows why they eat them, they have all the culinary value of wet newspaper  ). Supposed to make a decent bait though.
