PEOPLE:myself ,coaster,stuart


BAIT:bread,mackerel


RESULTS:1mullet 3lb,loads of small pollock,coalie .5lb


REPORT:got loads of mullet feeding and coaster got a 3lb on mackerel he also got the coalie there too.went quite so moved to another spot and all we got were loads off small pollock.

What sort of Mullet is that? Did it have gold in it's flanks?

Reason I ask is early in the year I caught what I thought was goldie but as I didn't have time to inspect clearly I couldn't have been sure.

Do T lipped have gold on their flanks or could it have been a hybrid I caught (at least 3.5 lb but probably 4 or 5)?

no they have gold on the flanks.
afraid you have only caught a common a garden thick lip.

The one I got had gold on the flanks but not that noticeable in the pic.
The gold coloration was much stronger at the tail and gill cover.
