People: me

Duration: 6hrs

Tide: HT aprox 17.30

Weather: overcastand cam

Bait: rag and mackeral

Rigs: flappers and pennel

Results: 2 coalies, 2 pollock, 1 codling, 1 whiting

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: started at glenarm breakwater. got 2 small pollock in the first half hour then noticed a black slick in the water which looked like oil. within half an hour it was at least a mile out and stretched right round the coast. even the water splashing against the rocks was black. decided to move to a new spot. when packing up got talking to one of the locals who told me the slick was sewage which is pumped out at various parts of the coast and the way the current was going created the massive slick. never seen anything like it. disgrace id say!! headed round to waterfoot and fished of the pier. plenty of bites but only a few small ones landed. bait robbing being the order of the day!!!

to be honest iv been pretty annoyed about this all day as its one of my favourite spots as well as a lovely part of the coast. how would you go about reporting this or does anyone know of the the relevant authority to ring to try and get something done to stop it.. as i say it was that bad it was like an oil slick. there are lots of lobster pots in the area as well as a huge salmon farm offshore, so everythings bound to be affected! POLLUION MUST BE STOPPED!!!!
