Dunfanaghy/Port Na Blagh Donegal

Spent a couple of weeks in Port Na Blagh. Fishing from the point at Port Na Blagh provided plenty of Makerel, small pollack. The Small Pier at Port Na Blagh proved a relevation - forced to fish here as the weather turned for the worse, rocks unsafe. Over a couple of evenings had small pollack (spinning), Pouting, 3b Rockling (1.5lbs+), Strap Conger (Makerel strips). Over high tide late evening/night only. Fishing from the end of the old pier as opposed to the new (Pollack available from here also). Waves were coming up over the low new pier wall>

Also watched flounder swimming by practically on surface - never saw this before, maybe due to all the sand/silt thrown up by bad weather. Had the company of either a huge dogfish or Bull Huss circling the end of the pear, again just below the surface. Kept me amused no end as I did not expect to have much from here (small tidal harbour)

Unfortunately had that NW Wind coming straight into my face from the beach, did get a flounder up at the Capuchin Friary, lots of folk fishing for Sea Trout/Salmon, could actually see trout rolling in front in the estuary but nobody managed to get anything - except myself and my flattie
