Headed out first at low water to get some spinning in for bass out beyond the oyster beds. Loads of movement from bass and mullet in the very clear water. Ended up catching 6 all bewteen 3 and 8lb on silver 10g toby. Cortaz had about the same number as well on a Bass bullet.
Also hooked into one bass, must have been about 20lbs, stripped about 150 yards out of the reel, and then somehow replaced itself with a tail hooked mullet of 5lbs near the end of the fight.
Some amazing fishing out there, catching bass in water which is no more than 18 inches deep! Bit of a florida flats feel about it when you're wading in knee deep water over a mile from the shore!
That evening headed for Cunnigar spit itself, but not so much as a a touch on the lugs or lures. Cortaz had one mackeral on a bass bullet.
I think the outcome is dont bother fishing here if there is a northerly breeze. The fish were still definetly there buit were not coming in close to the shore.
