Good to see you too Lee 337, a real genuine angler and boy does he know his stuff! 8) Tought me a few new tricks also
Sorry about your sl20 on the F2 but it happens :  When we see you again you can have a blast with that new Daiwa rod, I would say you could really make it sing. I would love to get up to one on the casting sessions but unfortunately I work every other Sunday and it always falls on the sunday I'm working
Well make arrangements with GG when he returns and make a day of it.

Steve,
Cheers for the chuck with the F2, its a nice rod. Might just take you up on the offer of a chuck with the TDXS. Am in the market for a casting/long range beach rod and it may suit my purposes.
Definately have to get organised with GG to have a day out as soon as he gets back ( if he is allowed out to play   )
Alan,
Nice to meet you, just a shame i didn't know you were a fellow SAI member - maybe next time. 8)

WHERE THE FLATTIES ANY GOOD SIZE, DONT THINK IVE EVER FISHED THIS MARK. IS THERE ANY SPECIFIC PLACE TO FISH LADS AND WHAT BAITS BEST RAGGIES I TAKE IT, AINT CAUGHT TO MANY FLATTIES THIS YEAR YOUR COMMENTS WOOD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED BOYS CHEERS.

The flatties were not that big but some of them were big enough to be regarded as keepers although I returned all fish. We were fishing at the North end of the beach just before the catch netting at the pitches.
Baits don't need to be anything fancy. Flatties will take rag or lug though rag seems to have the edge-especially if tipped off with a small piece of squid or mackerel.
The flatties can be caught from about 20 yards from the waters edge so a big cast is not essential.
Masybe not everyones preference but i was using a bass rod and 3onz ballweight so the tide could move my baits about and find the fish. That said, my best plaice of the day came at range on a bait that was put out for dogs with a grip lead.
Hope this helps - good luck.
