Cushendun Beach 31/07/06

Tue Aug 01, 2006 5:31 pm

People:Topbox, Scrab & Myself

Duration:8pm to 1.30 am

Tide:Low water at approx 10pm

Weather:some rain showers but mostly dry and virtually no wind

Bait:rag, mackerel, peeler crab, sandeel and squid

Rigs:flappers and clip downs

Results:Codling, Coalies, Plaice, Flounder, Pollock, Doggies and a MACKEREL

Report:Great nights fishing, plenty of double hook ups. Fish coming in steady throughout the night. John caught a cracking mackerel on a sandeel bait. Cushendun beach has not fished this well for us in ages, will def. be back.

Sorry for the short report but time a bit tight.

No Phil, had them snap while out in the boat - as John says would need to be home made. It's not worth the risk.

Lee - I think you could customise a 3 hook flapper pretty easy to do the job.

Short snoods and a 5oz oval weight - should be fun

I'm staying down in C'dun 13 14 & 15 - could be worth a wee outing??

Yea, sounds good to me. The way the beach was fishing will be easy to convince to come down again a wee run.
