People: myself and ramond
Duration: 5pm to 11pm
Tide: high at 8.30pm
Weather: hazy sunshine, light south westerly
Bait: limpets mack (eventually)
Rigs: pulleys and float, spinning
Results: zilch, nada!
Report: started off spining trying to get some mack and had the limpets floating and on the bottom - was cursing i didnt have some better bait - hallelujah! - a bag of 4 mack fillets gets washed up just in front of me!!!
from loughrea - how it got to me i dont know!! - anyway baited up and threw the mack out on the sand - had a bit in close aswell for good measure
mate ray helped with his amazing ALDI elastic line and rod - which managed to birds nest on a toby then on meps to the point of me grabbing it off him as it was finding my line aswell!
not even a bite to high tide - few others arrived with the feathers - chucked it about for half an hour no joy and headed off again - then i wouldnt have believed it except for i saw it with my own eyes - this lad from cork turns up and throws out mussel on the ground - first cast small wrasse - and then another small one 20mins later
he told me he only had the four mussel - he headed off - more arrived with feathers - again no joy, nobody else catchin
at about 10 the midges arrived and coupled with the hayfever and the lack of fish - the turning up of the mackeral - was not the sign - i expected it to be
packed in at 11 - but sure what a fine day to be standing out at the bay
:D
