Tue Jul 11, 2006 12:29 am

People: Myself and 2 mates

Duration:from 1900hrs to midnight
Tide: high tide around 2200hrs

Weather: slight breeze easing off til nothing

Bait: rag + macky

Rigs: pennel

Results: countless doggies, grey gurnard, pollack, cod, collie, mackeral, flounder

Report:

Headed up the coast with 2 mates, was thinking of the breakwater at Glenarm but there was loads on it so headed to the ledges.

Set up the big rods when Andy headed over for a spot of spinning which produced mackeral 1st and 2nd casts. Pollack, Coalies and surprisingly 2 grey gurnard on the spinner. I joined him and produced a cod on the spinner.

Around 2130hrs just before high tide the big rods were bouncing in the rod stands, pulling in doggies and sometimes 2 at a time of the pennel rigs. Big Kenny was getting the doggy bites aswell but couldnt hook any of them.

All in all good night doggy bashing listening to some music coming from festival in Waterfoot.

Hi Simpo,

I was at Glenarm the same night, two other lads who were fishing the Ledges stopped to talk to us on their way home - one had a 6lb pollack caught on a lure - it was the best shore caught pollack I have seen.....

They were driving a wee white van......

Yes they arrived around 0930 and fished on after we left. They were up spinning at the corner. We heard the 2 of them shouting and cheering bought thought nothing of it.........

Really good to see......
