Hi Andrew,

The North Beach can be fairly hit and miss at this time of the year, although from next month up till a few weeks after holloween it fishes unbelievably well for codling after an easterly blow. Even during daylight I've had a codling a cast, nothing huge but plenty up around 2 - 2.5 lb.

Crab is the only bait worth using, but it's well worth buying/collecting for a session. Last 4 hours of the flood should produce most. I'll be hitting it like clockwork a day after an the easterlies finish.

Not alot of Codling around the south beach these days, not what it used to be like anyway. There seems to be an awful lot of Dogs and Coalies though.I have cught a couple of Codling recently but very small ones, caught on lug and rag, even tried crab and mussell but the dogs seemed to like that aswell .
