People:Me
Duration:3 Hours
Tide:Full tide on the ebb
Weather:Cloudy & windy
Bait: None
Rigs: Not sure of the name, sorry, it had 5 hooks, each with a small bit of shiny stuff & a couple of feathers.
Results: 6 Mackerel, 2 coalfish, 1 whiting & 2 (eel things - about 1 foot long with fins at the back?)
Report: Went down about 3pm with the intention of trying for a few mackerel after reading a report from Richie07 saying they were being caught in dunlaoire.
I had a good couple of hours fishing & done better than I expected seeing as I never caught a coalie before or the other "eel things", anyone have any idea what they could be from my limited description above?

I'd say they were garfish you had on the feathers:

Good range of species you got there!

Cheers lads, they were garfish :D I must have hit a school of them because they were both caught on the same cast.

Cheers Richie, are the garfish rare on the east coast or what? It was great to get a nice range of species when I was only expecting to get a mackerel if I was lucky.
Cheers :)
