Rosslare pt and Katts strand 25/06/06

Mon Jun 26, 2006 1:28 pm

People: Me m,b3 and jp

Duration: All day

Tide: H.W. ~ 18.00

Weather: Blowing a gale at rosslare point, Fine at Katts.

Rigs: A lot!

Results: Me: 2 bass, 1 tope pup, 1 flounder
m.b3: 1 tope pup, 9 flounder, 1 ballan wrasse
Jp: 1 tub gurnard, 5 flounder, 1 dog, 1 dab.

Report: Arrived at rosslare point to be greeted by a howling wind and fairly dirty water which put all thoughts of smoothies to the back of our minds. Decided to give it a go anyway and got the tope pups to 2lb, tub gurnard dog, dab, small ballan and one bass here until the wind tide and weed forced us to retreat to katts for some shelter. Arrived here at high water and the lads were getting fish straight away. I couldnt buy a bite until last cast when I got a double! Biggest flounder of the day and a nice schoolie. Great days fishing with a nice variety of species and a fair bit of banter too.

Did you get the ballan close in?

Yeah. Mark couldnt face the wind on the point at the start, so he tried fishing in close beside where we parked the car.

Sounds like a good bit of fishin there Sean - even though the wind was bad. Good to see m.b3 is still alive too - was beginning to wonder. Give him my regards!

All the best.

Great days fishing and a cracking report. Well done. If only up the North was fishing well then we would have it all

Well Sean, this job still hasn't started properly and I've been here 6 months! These guys just don't want to finish so we can start!! I think they must all be in Ireland!!!

Now looking for another job in Cork.......mostly for the fishing, but also to do some real work!!
